We’re at Old Trafford on Sunday. It makes Monday something to look forward to.
When the fixtures come out three are always three aways to look for – Fulham, the last one and Manchester United. Two of them are joyous occasions if you’re there, the third is Sunday afternoon’s ordeal. It doesn’t make any difference whether you’re there or enduring it on TV, the end product is the same.
There might be a bit of optimism, we might have a bright start and think there’s a chance of getting something but don’t get your hopes up. It’ll go wrong in the end; it always does. For proof, look at last season and the greatest example of all time of turning victory into cataclysmic defeat. The Gods might have it in for us, and even if they haven’t the Premier League make up for it. We’re on the same points as them and this is a seriously important match. The ref’s from Manchester; they’re not even trying to hide their bias anymore.
They’ve still got the worst and most money-grabbing owners in football. Their manager of the month was a decent player and he’s had the run of the ball since taking over there temporarily again. He’ll be replaced in the summer and to no-one’s surprise Unai’s ‘poised’ to take the job. He’ll be even more poised on Saturday, and at least three of our players will be off there.
They’ve got a director of football negotiations as well as a director of football operations, which seems the same thing but they have to be different. Their players cost a fortune and they can buy more because referees aren’t the only people who interpret the rules to suit them. We’ve got John McGinn back.
We need to get something from this one and we’re capable but let’s not kid ourselves. It won’t happen. We should stay at home and save the cost of getting there. We’ve got John McGinn back.
