Dear Mr Gloryhunter, After achieving a unique and rather surprising
Premiership and FA Cup double, myself and the team thought it only proper that we thank
you personally for your tremendous support this season. Had it not been for your
marvellous loyalty in watching us faithfully both on BBC and Sky, I am sure that we at the
club could never have pulled it off. It is support like yours that makes this club what it
is and I know that Eric would never have had the confidence to put those cup final
penalties away without the knowledge that you were behind him, albeit several hundred
miles behind. I only wish you could have been able to witness the League Cup final, but I
understand that you were round your wife's mother's hone for the day and so naturally were
unable to witness our humiliating failure to achieve the coveted treble.
It only remains for me to offer my sincere and heartfelt thanks for the time and effort
you have put into the club over the years (I understand that you've been supporting us
ever since we beat Barcelona all those years ago, in 1991) and we all look forward to
seeing you in person one day at the Theatre of Hate One day. Perhaps.
Yours Sincerely,
Alex Ferguson.
P.S The commercial department would also like to extend their appreciation to you for
having purchased all the current team shirts. What a fan! They assure me that you will
again be able to show your support for the club next season by being able to purchase at
least another two new designs. |
