I think we should do both.  And win the Champions League.

Bollocks to settling for either/or.  I want it all, and I want it now.

I've made the same arguments before - by firmly establishing ourselves as as a CL club then success should become self perpetuating and you would expect trophies to follow (unless you are Spurs)  Look at Man U, even during their shite period over the last 10 years they've won more trophies than most other clubs could dream of - built on the income generation gained through long term top 4 success.

With that said, FA cup gets us Europa League qualification and we would have a good chance of going deep in that competition.  A trophy followed by a great Europa League run isn't a bad consolation prize.

It's all ifs buts and maybes depending on the resources of course, but I think if we start next season with a squad looking like it does now then I think he will have half an eye on a genuine title bid.

I’d be happy just competing with Arsenal for their perennial bid to finish 2nd. The bottling tarquin tosspots.

I think Liverpool may not be the same force next season, and the other usual candidates look to have work to do on their squads.

I agree, I think the title could be wide open next season, many of the "big" teams in transition apart from maybe Arsenal who mainly just need a striker but they're bottle jobs.

Sums up where I am with as well. It feels really strange that something I have wanted to see my entire life has a decent chance of happening soon but I might not want it just yet.

I thought about it a bit more and am now fully in the 'win a trophy now' camp. Too many variables to think what might be better in a year or two or five. We have no idea what the future holds, something could happen and we have a different manager, owner, squad. We could be winning trophies galore or we could be 15th and still trophyless.
