I loved how the Brighton keeper and their defender waved for offside when Rashford scored. He clearly made his run in their half of the pitch. It's the type of deflection someone does when they've made a clanger as it was shocking defending/goalkeeping.

Also, Ollie deserves credit for staying out of the way of Asensio's goal. Dunno if he still doesn't like celebrating his teammates goals but his body-swerve was for the greater Villa good tonight.

And he was onside even in our half.

Yes, sorry, I meant their attacking half/our defensive half.

But I think what Rory is saying is that there was a defender playing him on, even though it was in our half.

I saw him cheer when he was still lying on the ground - smile, and both arms up!

Sorry, yes, should've been clearer. Thanks Olney.

He initially looked at the lino for a flag as if he was offside, and where he was to the ball, it probably would have been called.

It's Thursday morning, it's sunny, I have a day off work and Villa thumped Brighton last night.

Great ball through for Rashford goal, and as good Dunk can be defensively if you get in behind him he is oil tanker pace .

The more I see that Morgan Rogers pass, the more brilliant it is. The same with Cash for the second.

Definitely tricky to imagine Konsa or Disasi doing that had they been playing right-back.

Same for me and I live in Sussex. Walking around in my claret and blue getting salty looks from the odd person featuring a seagulls logo. More here today than attended the match last night by looks of it. Why oh why do beastly old Aston Villa cheat every time we play them 😂  tbf anyone that beats them have always cheated or not played in the proper spirit of the game lol fuck off 😂

They were extremely lucky not to have been paying with 10 men for the last hour.

My 3 Brighton-supporting nephews aren't happy either: they might speak to me at the next family gathering if we beat Crystal Palace at Wembley though: those fans do not like each other!

Take away last seasons visit there and we really do have the hoodoo over them. When we won 2-1 there in Emerys second game it was all the "dark arts shit" and "if that's how you win then I'd rather lose" bollocks. Clearly when we play them we should just let them win 😂

The weirdest ‘derby’ nonsense that just proves both sets of fans are v peculiar types.

Only weirder one is the ‘love you…no love you more’ betw Small Heath and Smethwick Nomarks.

I have looked and looked and looked at Jacob Ramsay‘s incredible dive in their penalty area. I mean, for fuck‘s sake what does a person have to do to get a penalty. It was just so blatant a penalty. I’m glad it did not cost us.

I love the rotation. To be able to rest or bring on players after 60 mins is great. The hectic fixture list might not be such a strain after all. Squad depth prob best we've had in my 40 years supporting.
