Textbook away performance. Stay in the game, absorb the early pressure then hit them on the counter before going on to win comfortably.

Really well taken goals and very strong team performance. I thought Kamara was absolutely outstanding.

I loved how the Brighton keeper and their defender waved for offside when Rashford scored. He clearly made his run in their half of the pitch. It's the type of deflection someone does when they've made a clanger as it was shocking defending/goalkeeping.

Also, Ollie deserves credit for staying out of the way of Asensio's goal. Dunno if he still doesn't like celebrating his teammates goals but his body-swerve was for the greater Villa good tonight.

And he was onside even in our half.
Exactly. Rashford is 5 yards inside his own half when Rogers plays the ball!

We need Newcastle to arrive at VP within touching distance and to beat them. Then it’s just a sprint to the finishing line from there. Not sure the quality of opponents is all that important, it will be who wants it most, who is fittest.

The last three words could well be our key to success this season.

For all Brighton's possession they created very little. I thought we looked comfortable all match & were clinical when the chances came .

Outrageous decision from VAR not to look at the penalty, which will get lost in all the fuss about Tarkowski's challenge.

It was a definite pen.

Traky should have walked but YNWA goal was offisde. Pundits - seen em given or not.

Tarkowski practiced that tackle on Diaby last season at Goodison, and it wasn’t even considered a foul, never mind a yellow card. 2 minutes in:

Ollie very rarely celebrates when someone else scores. Probably some selfish striker nonsense.

It should go down as an assist :)

Rogers gets a 3 for the first half and a 7 for the 2nd. I’m good at maths so thats a 5 overall. He’s wasted out wide in truth.
So Rogers gets a 3 in the first half 7 in the second? 3+7=10 So overall 10/10. That's slightly generous but I like the cut of your jib. Winky thing

Great result and a thoroughly professional performance. The fact that our 3 goals came from the January recruitments is testament to our brilliant scouting staff. Take a bow Mr Monchi and Co. And obviously Unai for the way he's using them to maximise our chances.

Even though it was a really enjoyable game for us there's a couple of things that really niggled me. Firstly that was a blatant a penalty for the foul on Ramsey. They (var) analysed it to the nth degree to see whether the Brighton player got the merest hint of a glance on the ball and decided he did so refused the penalty. Just because you might glance the ball that doesn't negate the foul. He took his ankles away. Their disallowed goal. Early on in the analysis there was a clear image of the Brighton player using his forearm to control the ball so why did they go on to look at images from every fucking angle available. The first image was conclusive and should of took mere seconds to disallow the "goal" Finally the added time. 1 minute in the first half which is pretty rare but 10 minutes in the second half. What the actual fuck? I thought we were a little lucky not to concede a pen when the ball struck Ramseys arm when it came back off the post. He had time to move his arm imo. Just all round piss poor officiating.

This is the thing for me, plural.

It wasn't slightly grazing a boot followed by swan lake, he clacked both his legs at the same time, the fouliest of fouls.

Gormless twats.

Yes, sorry, I meant their attacking half/our defensive half.
