hes been insane.

So long as we get at least Europa, I think he would be mad to leave if we can afford to keep him.  Even if its just a loan for another year.  We're putting together a seriously good squad.

We have to sign him permanently. He's fucking brilliant.
Would he stay?
I don't think you should underestimate the impact being 'happy' can have on a player at his age and level.  He wants to be competitive, sure, but he seems to be enjoying his football, clearly likes Unai, and if we can find a way to make it work financially I see no reason he wouldn't want to stay longer.

He's ok but he's no Brett Holman.

With the massive PSR boost from this season, we need to be buying players from the level above, more like Asensio (and Rashford for that metter).

Anyone in TV broadcasting pick-up the fact Mignolet got a Mings like touch on Asensio's second shot? Barely anything but enough to divert onto the centre of the post rather than the inside and in. Not one commentator on TNT or BBC seemed to spot it.

Was a brilliant save. With the form Asensio is in in front of goal I was stunned it wasn't a goal.

They said it was a brilliant save omn Irish TV (during the game).

I knew immediately he'd saved it as Marco would never miss a one on one.

He's got a bit of Platt about him the way he appears in the box. Superb footballer. Snap him up before someone else does.

I think the fact he's already won a bunch of stuff probably helps. Sure he'll still want to be playing at the top level and challenging for trophies, but the lure of playing for a club almost guaranteed a trophy may not be as strong for him as it would be for a much younger player, or even the likes of  Rashford.

Excl. - #AstonVilla are working to keep Marco #Asensio. #AVFC are planning to sign him from #PSG on a permanent deal. Ready a contract until 2028 with the option. https://x.com/NicoSchira/status/1899958238478585969

This statue. Is it definitely just going to be a lion?
