Can't see him starting with Ramsey, been out for weeks and needs to break in slowly.
Did he even touch the ball against BHA?

Yes

Yes

Thought he did quite well.

I like Drummonds side. Barkley and Kamara sitting with Tielemans running free at 10, get Ramsey and Bailey behind their 2 centre halves.

Let's beat these cheats and contribute to sending them down. Hopefully they go straight through to the 3rd division the next season.

Quote
Shilton...

“I didn’t see the shot but our skipper David Nish tells me the ball definitely went in and it was a goal.”

 Vic Crowe…

“It would be better if I said nothing about this incident. But I think 27,000 saw a good Villa goal disallowed.”

We need Ramsey to start - whether he is up to 60 minutes is another question. He does a lot of what Rogers does, not as creative, but doesn't lose the ball as much.

Need to get those 60mins or so into his legs anyway. He usually takes quite a few games to get match so I wouldn't be expecting too much from him. Would really like to see if Maatsen/Ramsey can replicate the excellent combo play that Moreno/Ramsey had on the left side a couple of seasons ago.

This will be a drag to watch like Southampton at home was.

Leicester don't have much pace in their team in midfield and defence so will sit very deep.

Rogers out is a problem for us, need to be moving Tielemans advanced imo.

Will go for 2-1 win.

Barkley can pass too, with Tielemans in front of him it could be really interesting.

Barkley has a habit of taking way too much time when he actually has some time on the ball, it's an odd trait, otherwise he's fine when under direct pressure. I put it down to not being in rhythm for playing bits and pieces of games.

Third trip of the season (and ever) for my young 'un.

He loved two good performances against Bologna under the lights and Bournemouth in the late autumn sunshine  - reckon if a drab slog against Leicester in January in the wind and snow doesn't put him off them he's probably in for life.

On the one hand it will be bitterly cold, on the other hand I get to wear my new coat I got for Christmas. Leicester looked OK against Stockport 115 from what I saw but shouldn't be taken lightly.

In terms of selection, pick Carlos and we will struggle, pick Mings and we will be more solid. I'm reticent to scapegoat anyone but I just don't think the former is up to the standard we need and the latter has been excellent in the two domestic games he has played. But I think the manager, who has forgotten more than I will ever know about football, will stick with Carlos. Saft goal incoming.

1-1

The bit about your coat made me chuckle - enjoy!

The likes of Maatsen and Barkley will probably play in the fa cup game so I don't see either of them starting . We need our strongest team starting this one .

Great post ALita, though my memory of Pat McMahon's 'ghost' goal was that it was before the break. Either way, shockingly bad luck.

I thought it was, press cutting on AVFC history would seem to confirm.

I was watching Ramsey closely when he came on against Brighton, I think the one part of his game that has to improve is his defensive work.  Not enough hustle off the ball and positionally not quite right.  We know he's a great player, but I think he just needs to add that to his game.

Am I right in saying that the next 7 games after this one are all on tv?
