Emerys first season Mings was excellent and made very few mistakes.
We need the Konsa / Mings CB pairing back .
Torres is a weak link even his supposed passing brilliance is no longer evident .
Diego can be either superb or shite , more or less in equal measure.

We need Bailey back and firing on all cylinders as soon as possible. At times last season he was the best player in the whole league and played a massive part in Villa achieving Champions League football. Our Mo Salah!!

We know he has it in the locker. Start him today, be patient, and hopefully he will regain that form in the coming weeks.

Our midfield is taking shape and Mings will hopefully improve the defence. If Bailey starts to perform, the second half of the season could be very bright.

Our current position in the league is underwhelming (being polite). Bailey of last season has been a massive loss. Let's give him a chance to play 'back into form' before writing him off.

I would start him tomorrow.

I'm not sure I'd start him today. I'd definatley start him to tomorrow though  :)

Joking aside, I would start him too. Watching Brighton the other night, Wissa caught them a couple of times on the break and had one disallowed for a tight offside.

It’s time for Ollie and Bailey to find some really good form, that with Ramsey getting some minutes and we could really push on now.

Sorry mate.
I have been in the , now (insert Name of choice) will be back we can start pushing on camp.
I am convinced that this will not happen with a defence that still leaks 2 goals a game.

I don't think they will lose, but it will put some distance between the top 9 and the ones below if we win. Currently quite a fight going on for 5th place.

This won't be easy, but our home form has been generally very good. A win will set us up for the second half of the season.

Martinez

Cash
Konsa
Mings
Digne

Onana
Kamara

McGinn
Tielemans

Rogers
Watkins

Cash is suspended.

Tim always seems to miss stuff like this. I wonder if he does it on purpose?

In completely unrelated news, Coopers Injury/silhillvilla was often stupid on purpose.

I'd stick Ned in then or Bogarde
I know you really want Mings in Tim. I love Mings for the record, but on the basis of your post Torres is more of a defensive problem than Ned or Bogarde??
Both look good prospects, but they are not the answer this Monday night.
If Emery doesnt want to experiment with two left footed CBs, it’ll be Carlos and Torres all day long with Konsa at RB.

Other than that, I think it may end up being the same midfield as the last two games, with Watkins and Rogers up top.
Yes I do want Mings in. The defence is an unorganised shambles without him . We need leaders at the back .

I like Mings a lot but I can’t be the only one to remember he dropped a massive bollock at least once a match? Some of the silly things we see that lead to goals now were happening when he played on a regular basis and people were getting, rightly, fed up of it.

You’re misremembering mate. His clanger against Brugge was his first error leading to a goal in something like 2340 minutes. In his last 16 league games we kept 7 clean sheets and conceded 9 goals, never more than 1 in a game. I think he’s kept something like 16 clean sheets in 18 England appearances. Doesn’t quite tie in with ‘a massive bollock at least once a match’.

Apologies to the posters on here who hate facts - they know who they are.

Not really disputing the overarching point, and I don’t think he does drop a clanger every game either, but a player could make a glaring error in every game and still be in a defence that keeps clean sheets.

Which makes continuing to leave him out the team a bit baffling.
