Romano says the deal is close on Rashford and we are covering his salary. Nightmare!

I've had worse nightmares.

I'm OK with Rashford if the money side of things is sensible. I can see him playing with Rogers and Ramsey behind Ollie, Leon on the bench. Also back up if Ollie gets injured. If they were to click as a unit anythings possible. Asensio still a possibility by the sounds of it.

In Unai I trust.

Underwhelmed, but he could do something. He might not. No risk I suppose?

Any idea how much a permanent transfer would cost in the summer if he did well?

It's beginning to look a lot like Rashford.
Loan is fine , do not convert to permanent though.

I know nothing about Rashford over the last season or so other than what I’ve read on here. On that count I still know nothing. I’d be pretty disruptive if I was at UTD with their revolving door of weird managers and players over the last few seasons.

He was a good player though and he’s only 27. A loan with some or all wages covered seems fine to me.

Would like Tomori and maybe one other and I think it will have been an ok window.

Lazy, doesn’t track back, disruptive in the dressing room, can’t be bothered with training, doesn’t fit our system, selfish, pushes Ramsey to the bench, very very expensive.

Taking a ‘gamble’ on Marcus Rashford vs some of the absolute tripe we have signed before, and some are incredibly wound up by it.
I’m not sure I get the reason to be quite so vexed ?

I think it's because he fed those kids that time.

Blackly.

(I actually don't think he'd be a good signing at all, but he does seem a lovely fella.)

There's a clip on YouTube of one of his management team doing a Q&A at a marketing conference a couple of years ago. In it, he explains how Marcus's concern for the kids was a great PR move that added millions to the value of brand 'Rashford'.

Wherever Rashford moves next I’d imagine what he wants/needs most is a good environment, a great coach and a club who don’t hang him out to dry in front of the media at every opportunity. That might end up being us, it might not but there’s a good player there somewhere and his next move is probably his last chance to prove it at this level.

Maybe I'm remembering it wrong, but I feel like he got a lot of criticism when he was just feeding kids,   even from his own team's fans? A lot of people were just waiting for him to fall off so they could say told you so. Obviously he hasn't helped himself by partying and flying off when he shouldn't and what not, but I can't imagine what it would be like to attract that much criticism and vitriol for just doing some good. You can say the criticism of him now us warranted but you know a lot of it is coming from people who just hate him for no good reason.

I wonder if he knows any of our players from international camps or youth levels. You'd imagine if he's spoken to anyone who plays under Emery he'd know what to expect, and that everyone involved here meets the level expected from them.

There's also a little part of me that would just love him to be a massive success here, while Man Utd continue to flirt with relegation.

I do quite like that these days players need to leave Mold Trafford and come to Villa Park if they want to play Champions League football.

I have in fact seen that, and yeah I'm absolutely certain that Rashford's concern is genuine and that the marketing teams surrounding these impressionable young men are 100% lizards.

Carl Anka (athletic reporter and occasionally on the football daily podcast) wrote his biography and could not speak highly enough about Rashford having spent time with him and getting to know him.

He’s scathing about man united generally despite obviously being a fan.

Maybe I'm just a cynic but i see this a way of tempting "bigger" clubs out to hijack him at the last minute.  If not I would see it worth it till the end of the season

That was a devastatingly insightful comms observation from the guy: people who do good things are looked upon favourably. Stunning.

Ornstein saying very likely now for Rashford..loan with option to buy..will Unai try 2 up front or stick with 3 behind Ollie.
