those foyth and guendozi links always seem like lazy journalism to me, based purely on emery managing them in the past.

emery isn't steve bruce or harry redknapp, signing all the same shite from club to club.

Romano

“More on Paris Saint-Germain and Kvicha Kvaratskhelia story reported earlier.

PSG and Napoli are in direct contact… as PSG step up efforts to make it happen now, open to offering players (including Skriniar) plus cash in the deal.

ℹ️🇬🇪 It now depends on Napoli decision.”

He has his faults but this would be mental unless there's someone coming in. Torres is out for 2months (& look at what happened to JJ for a similar injury) and Mings is just back from a long-term injury so could easily pick up muscular injuries, leaving just Konsa (I wouldn't trust any of the kids to step up).

I’d be concerned too if Carlos went without being replaced. I guess Kamara could play centre back in an emergency

We paid £26m for him in summer of 2022 on a 4 yr deal. Stands at c.£9.75m on the books, so anything less than that and we'll take a PSR hit.

He's on £100k pw - £5.2m pa.

We've been linked with Antonio Silva (Benfica) and Skriniar from PSG.

Both would be adequate replacements for Carlos.

Not sure why people keep suggesting Kamara at centre-half, it seems like an absolutely terrible idea to me. We don't know if he can play there, we do know he's brilliant in midfield. It would likely make us worse in two positions.

It would be absolutely insane and reckless to sell Diego Carlos without a replacement - no if’s, but’s, or maybe’s.

Kvara leaving halfway through a possible scudetto-winning session to go to P S Fucking G would be more depressing than words can express.

I seem to remember he played there quite a bit in Europe for Marseille.

Kamara is too important to be moved into centre defence. I'm sure Emery has someone lined up should Carlos move on.

Aston Villa have now started direct negotiations with Caen to sign Tidiam Gomis.
