Id be worried if any of these guys were Villa's marquee jan signing. rememeber remember djemba djemba a wise old villa fan once told me.
manioo is the eptiome of an over hyped english player. He had the much maligned casimiro babysitting him in midfield for all of last season the first time they put him on his own was crystal palace who smashed them 4-0. All the goals coming straight down the middle where koby was meant to be patroling. (Even the Villa game last season the red sea parted time and time again in front of the D)But the papers had already locked in his england place for the euros this didn't stop southgate pining for kalvin philips when his weakenss were exposed. he's got a good touch but he's about 250 games away from being as good as the hype for a DM
Garnacho's main strength is running down blind alleys, seems to be dining out on the wonder goal at everton the other year. Even his slow motion cross on sunday must have bobbled about 6 times before it rolled into amad. no wonder van dyke was going nuts.
Hoyland looks totally out of his depth in the prem, not quick enough, not strong enough, can't finish.
These guys have everton west ham and fulham written all over them

He's not a DM though, a bit like Luiz, people see him play and think he could be a good DM but all his best performances are playing far more like a box-to-box midfielder. One of the biggest problems in the game right now (and especially in England) is that proper DMs are very rare, Kamara is one of only about 4-5 of them in the league right now.

I always felt that in this country we think of DM's essentially as centre halves that can trap a ball, whereas on the continent it's about technique and awareness.

Yes, but what actually makes a player a DM rather than a midfielder (in English football at least) is elements of both.

For me, a DM does 2 roles...provide protection in front of the defence and act as a metronome who helps to control and dictate play, recycling the ball until someone who's more creative is found. Petrov was great at this in the O'Neill era, always my favourite player back then when he got a lot of criticism for not passing forward enough.

Aston Villa, Leipzig & AC Milan are interested in Caen forward Tidiam Gomis.

As a dominant centre half on the right what about Milan Skriniar, not getting a look in at PSG

Cheers Dave, certainly seem to be looking in the positions that we all want strengthening.

I do like Garnacho though, the last couple of times we played them at home he felt like a proper threat and it was largely him doing us damage in last season's instalment of Boxing Day misery.

He has dropped off that form since , hence he is surplus to requirements

You'll often see fluctuations in form with wide players, particularly ones that young.

I'd do that deal if it was for a semi realistic price. Which it won't be with them.

He was a monster at Inter. Would be a very interesting signing, could be pivotal if we can cut out some of the silly goals we've conceded this season.

I can't help but get Adnan Januzaj vibes from Garnacho.
Yes, see also Federico Macheda.

Shudder.  His name should be banned from H&V, or mentioned only in a disguised 'Scottish play' fashion.

He should henceforth be known as “The Italian Prick”.

Fenerbahçe are increasingly confident of reaching an agreement with Aston Villa for Diego Carlos.

From what I understand he has a bit of a shitty attitude and all fingers were pointing to him or his brother leaking the ManU team 24 hours before they played 115 City.

Milan Škriniar has been offered to Aston Villa as they seek a short-term replacement for Pau Torres. @TomCollomosse

Samuel Chukwueze has also been proposed to Villa & they may consider him if they cannot do a deal for Donyell Malen.

No chance of you copping off with Ems as she and I are at the Kababish tonight.
