He would’ve been so proud tonight.
This one’s for you Gary.

Was listening on the Radio as couldn’t get a dodgy stream. So so appreciated hearing his song so often. Well done the travelling Villa, did us proud.

Not sure if this has been posted yet but it's a great read. Had no idea Maradona asked for Shaw's shirt!

Thanks for posting, I enjoyed that.

Regarding the number 8 shirt, I didn't realise that Gary wanted it so much as his hero and mine Sir Brian of Little had worn it before him!

I was fortunate enough to become aquainted with Gary through a mutual friend Karl Court..

The first time we met I ended up propping Shawy up and him telling me he loved me

Over the years our paths crossed and he was always good company, shy of buying drinks, but always polite, never refusing anyone a pic, always with a twinkle in his eye if there was female company.

The last time I saw him was July last year, he promised me he was going to come to my stag do, and lo and behold the footballer I grew up idolising, came out for a drink with me and my party, Shaun Teale also came with another lad who was attending

But my hero came for a drink at my stag do... How good is that.

Gary Shaw, Baller, Legend, Gentleman

Thank you for the memories

RIP My hero

Nice tribute on MOTD CL ahead of our highlights.

Forgot about the highlights show, will go look on iPlayer.

I’ve just be looking back at some clips, particularly struck by the couple European away goals in the club’s short video tribute https://x.com/avfcofficial/status/1835717028763627557?s=46&t=i0eH9ovn4hH0MJN1zK2sog especially (at 55 secs) the screamer from outside the corner of the box, possibly hadn’t seen it before, I think I’ve worked out was 20/10/82 first leg of our last winning European cup tie, at Dinamo Bucharest. Can anyone confirm? Stunning strike.

I’d been thinking of blubbing when that team were on the pitch for the 40th Anniversary May 2022, https://youtu.be/Jcf9BtnKmQs?si=qSiFXXILhk4vTbNr I guess somehow the emotion of not being there with my Dad but having little AV on my shoulders waving her flag, not long before her 3rd birthday seeing the “old men” from Daddy’s childhood, chuffed to spot us in the crowd.

Nice to read that team will go to Bodymoor the Weds morning of the Bayern match.

Saturday is going to be very strong for a lot of us.
