How absolutely bang average is the Prem this season. It feels like a missed opportunity given our set up .
Except it's not. Last season we stumbled  near the end but still made it  because Spuds melted and there was no other challenger nearby. This season it's ding dong with 5 teams right at it.

I agree entirely, yeah Liverpool were obviously going to win it from relatively early on (although strictly speaking, still haven't quite done it yet) but the race for the CL places is really interesting, with relative newcomers like us and Newcastle in the mix, and, of all clubs, Forest right up there in the top places.

Added to that, Spurs are an absolute laughing stock, and even better, Man United are having their worst season since god knows when with a clueless manager way out of his depth plus an expensive, shit squad, most of whom don't want to be there.

It has been a significantly more interesting season than normal.

Yup. All it needed was for the promoted teams to be a bit less shit and for Mo Salah to be a bit less good and it would have been one of the best seasons ever I reckon.

Could add Spurs in there. In the last 33 years their lowest points total is 44 points. They are currently on 37. When seasons happened where Championship sides used to put up a fight, those points tallies could mean relegation.

How good a season it’s been will be based quite a lot on how it finishes.  If the top 5 were to include Liverpool, Arsenal, Man City, and Chelsea, and Man City won the FA Cup again, and one of Spurs or Man Utd got CL through wining the Europa…. Hmm, despite our amazing CL campaign and scintillating league form lately, I’m not sure I’d be remembering it too fondly.

Took the family to enjoy Bath City 0-1 Chippenham yesterday. 14th vs 15th in that league is *not* as exciting as the top end.

Looking at the fixtures, Truro and Worthing are playing against sides arguably fighting for survival as well. So not easy games.

1970s last time they finishes this low in the League I think. Finished about 13th in 1990 and still won the sodding Cup.
