So, I haven't been keeping up, if Spurs or ManU win either of their cups, they get the 5th CL spot ? Or do they get an 'extra' one?

They’re both in the same one. And I’m pretty sure the answer is “no, unless some other very unlikely things happen.”

Actually, just re-read what you said. They get an extra one and there’ll still be 5 through the league.

And Spurs. We play them three days earlier. Villa of all clubs should want them both in it. We're sat either side of the final FFS.

We hopefully play Spurs a week earlier with our own final on our mind.

Of course we do. Thanks.

Fuck Spurs.

It's turned into a horror week so far given our result and those of Spurs Arse, Manure . Hopefully today is a turning point

An article the other day says that Man U would miss out on £80m if they do not win the Europa Cup and qualify for the CL plus their other income from the Premier League will be a lot lower this year.

Their new Adidas deal says they're "fined" £10million every year they don't qualify for the CL. I assume that just means Adidas give them 10mil less than what they normally give them. Presumably there's other sponsors with similar clauses.

It doesn't sit right with me that them lot and Spurz have a potential short-cut to the Champions league even when they are shit.

If we were to miss out on CL this season, winning the Europa League and qualifying for the CL that route might suit us very well next season. Although I'd like to think that if we miss out this year, we'd get top 5 next year. Given that we've had to adjust to a tougher schedule this year.

I’m fine with the Europa League being an entry route to the Champions League. It’s annoying Manure or Spurs might get it, but the concept is fine.
