We had a similar one at Wolves ruled out for offside earlier this season, except the Wolves player didn't even make contact with the ball in that case

Joe Hart explained it well last night and it's one of those 'law is an ass' things, as much as Tarkowski is a big dirty carthorse he's not reacting like that if the Liverpool player isn't breathing down his neck in an offside position.

For me, much like the handball/penalty situations they've lost focus on why the law exists and why changes have been made in the past. 'Not interfering with play' was supposed to stop you having a 25 yard rocket ruled out because a teammate on the far side of the pitch was half a yard off, not this sort of thing.
