We probably should have won it but it’s a lot easier now with the extra clubs in the CL and EL meaning the quality in the conference league is much lower compared to previous years.

Good point dante. Although realistically massively disappointed we never won it although i guess CL was priority for our long term to help with FFP

We may get another go next season if we can improve on our recent form. That or the Europa, which we would also have a decent chance at winning.

Chelsea have 2 squads worth a billion quid each so not surprising they are doing well. Plus I don't think we ever played anyone 311th in the rankings.

Were still living with the fact that we overpaid for Carlos 3 seasons ago, and it limits what we can do, while chelsea have about 20 players of similar cost in there bomb squad

Did we overpay for Carlos?
He was part of a pretty tight Sevilla defence and came with a good reputation. The problem was he got injured early and we’ve not seen any real consistency from him, we’ll never know what effect that injury had.

I agree. But we are likely to be in and out of it over the coming years I suspect. That and the Europa with, hopefully, the odd stint in the CL.

There are so many good teams in the mix for Europe and that's without Man United who are never going to stay shit forever with their huge income.

At least those lesser competitions will give us a chance of a trophy, although they don't have the financial impact as the CL.
