In fairness us and Forest playing 2 shit teams probably didn't look attractive to broadcasters, and our game was dull until the last 20 mins.

I wouldn't watch any of them personally, but I bet far more people are watching / watched the matches they've chosen than would have watched any of the alternatives.

Yes, but one of the deals when the Premier League was formed was that they wouldn't just televise the same teams every week, like ITV usually had.

I think the deal was that each team would have a minimum number of televised matches, which I'm sure they're sticking to.

Beyond that, it makes sense to show the matches that more people want to watch.

We were on TV all the time when we were in the Championship. Would you show a mid-table game between Villa and Leeds even though there is less riding on it than Bolton vs Barnsley?
