Barry is the one you'd be hoping does really well. If we had him as a viable option for next season it relieves a bit of pressure where Watkins is concerned.

Little Emi came on for Leverkusen in the 42nd minute and helped set up their third goal (in a 3-1 win). They then had someone sent off and he was subbed off for Hermoso, but he must have been good as he was awarded MOTM for his 20-odd minutes.

MOTM for 20mins?! Was that a sympathy prize for him being subbed?

I think it happened once at Villa Park? Thinking maybe Garry Parker against Sheffield United. We were rubbish but somehow won, they asked Ron Atkinson if he was annoyed by the booing at half-time and he said "no, I started it".

I've almost certainly conflated several different games.

Didn't we once/still despise the likes of Chelsea for having so many out on loan? I know ours are more kids than seniors but still, it's quite a factory we're running.

Like sitting in the home end, it's different when we do it.

I imagine this thread is going to see lots of activity given all the extra loans we've agreed this window.  Good luck to them all.

Kaden Young gone on loan to Antwerp

This is one I'm really interested to follow.  He's been around the first-team since he was 16, so he's clearly very well thought of. Regular in the England youth levels, and having just turned 19 he's the same age as Lewis-Skelly and Nwaneri at Arsenal who are both making their first-team breakthroughs, so I'm hopeful a bit of proper first-team action might show us his true potential.  Fingers crossed he gets a chance over there.

I'm pretty sure Antwerp was the place Man Utd used to send a lot of their youngsters, not sure if they still do?

Finished after the Ferguson era, but yes, loads of them went there.

Antwerp is also the current stomping (plodding?) ground of former Villa hero Bjorn Engels.

It's also the most populous municipality in Belgium, fact fans! Brussels is only fifth! Never let it be said that I don't bring an air of excitement to the forum.
