Where's the £3m figure coming from?

How would selling him for £6m in 12 months after buying him for £3m this summer, equate to a loss?

You do realise that was Dave’s imagination running wild with that thoughtful transfer saga
and in reality no profits or loses actually exist

I still haven't seen any mention of what the fee is for Dobbin.

I suspect it will be mysteriously close to what they pay for Tim. Pure coincidence of course.

I saw £3m somewhere. So not what they are paying for Tim.

Blame TV if it turns out we're bunging Everton £20m.

Having also started this new player thread, he has a lot riding on Dobbin actually signing for us.

I thought it was like-for-like with Tim, both being valued around 9m.

Being reported as £3m, which coincidentally is exactly what Everton need to comply with PSR.

The way it's going some of the losers from PSR will be the young players who are being shunted around like trading cards with little regard for their careers.

True. Then again, they'll not go short as a result.

The best young players will still be first team players in the Premier League, the next rung down will still be moving around Premier League reserve teams and the Championship before they start dropping down, but now with a few extra million in the bank that they weren't getting before.

I spent most of last season watching Blues legend Isaac Vassell looking really sad on the Bath City bench in the sixth tier, reckon he'd had loved the opportunity to be shunted around three or four Premier League teams in his early 20s to give him a bit of financial security before his jobbing career around the lower leagues.

Quality always rises to the top. Rogers, JJ and soon to be Maatsen. Two with shunt about pathways to a Champions League club, another so good he could stick around with only a short loan spell.

I still reckon Dobbin is a made up name and the player doesn’t actually exist
I suppose he could play in that false 9 position

He is a Football Manager regen.

I mean, considering his limited minutes, he’s got a decent reel. Quite a few bits where he looked okay against us:

He's quick and will suit those cross field balls into space that the likes of SJM like to play.  Unai will make him even better.

Long, crossfield balls to Preston or Sheffield where he'll inevitably be on loan next season.
