Play all our six footers. Free kicks, corners, long throws. If we can't beat them on the floor then maybe a much more direct approach is a better approach.

We need to show them less respect this game .
Get a few early goals and turn the Aston screw into them.

I don't think it will be like that. Rather, if things go to plan, it will be a tight game until 70 odd minutes, at which point we'll throw the kitchen sink (and Asencio) at it. Think Atleti '98, without conceding the goal, Rashford "72, Rogers "73.

In fairness, i'd take either scenario. I think we will play a lot better and they won't hit the heights they did this week.

That’s 3 Champions League games in a row where they’ve been brilliant, I’m not sure why you’ve convinced yourself it was a one-off.

No need to limit it to the last three, the five Champions League matches before those won by a combined score of 21-3.

Yeah rattling in 17 goals vs the likes of Stade Brest Stuttgart and Salzburg.
They've been beaten 4 times in the competition already this season. A 5th defeat awaits .

The bad news is that in their last 70 games they've lost by 2 or more goals only three times. The better news is that 2 of them were in England,

I'd keep it tight till half time, then throw the kitchen sink at them second half to send them into disarray and Villa Park into rapture.

We've got to defy ridiculously heavy odds for it to work out the way we want.... But as a wise man once said, 'It's a funny old game'.

I agree, except I'd probably try to go full tilt for the first 5-10mins as well. An early goal would be huge.

That's because they spend 90% of their games bullying Marcel Marceau and Gerard Depardieu.

Stories today that UEFA are looking at the seedings after the tables because Arse are playing Real away second leg even though they finished top 8. They want the teams who finish top 8 to have even more advantage in the knockout stages. Personally I don't think it matters. Out of the teams who finished top 8, only 4 are still into the knock-out stages anyway even when they had the "advantage" of playing home second leg.

And finishing that high gives them more money AND more association points anyway.

If they wanted it to be a real advantage then they should change it to a single leg.
