Finally the club take note of the previous ticketing shambles and it’s not a free for all

Probably still crash like usual

Not rocket science or difficult so not sure why uefa have to complicate it all

I guess it's to give some sort of "reward" for finishing higher up the league. Otherwise it wouldn't really matter if you came first or eighth.

Obviously you could finish first and draw Real Madrid or finish eighth and draw Brugge so it's not exactly flawless, but I assume that's the reasoning.

Substitute PSG for Real and you nailed that!

Did anyone on here, get home tickets for the last Bruges game, and what was it like?

@martynziegler

This is from UEFA's website:

Cost control and the squad cost rule

The new regulations will see clubs subject to squad cost controls for the first time. The cost control rule restricts spending on player and coach wages, transfers, and agent fees to 70% of club revenues.

(The gradual implementation will see the percentage at
90% in 2023/2024,
80% in 2024/2025,
and 70% in 2025/2026)

The full article is behind the Times paywall. Don’t mind a financial sanction compared to a possible ban.

The Times

Aston Villa’s challenges in complying with Uefa and the Premier League’s financial regulations were exposed last week when they asked fellow top-flight clubs to increase increase the limit on spending on player wages and transfers.

Villa are expected to be in breach of Uefa’s squad cost ratio (SCR) rules for 2024, which limited clubs in European competition to spending 80 per cent of their revenue on player costs and will drop to 70 per cent for 2025. A financial penalty of several million pounds is likely to be the outcome of such a breach.

The Premier League had planned to adopt SCR for next season but with an 85 per cent limit. That was still not high enough for Villa, who wrote to fellow clubs asking for it to be raised to 90 per cent — a move that failed to attract much support.
