PSG or Barcelona would beat Liverpool over two legs in my opinion
i rather us play Liverpool and before that it’s Dortmund or Brugge as confirmed after the games this week.

The draw is tomorrow

We play Brugge or Dortmund in R16, first leg away. If we get through to the QF we then play Liverpool, Benfica, Barcelona, or PSG. First leg at home.
Once the draw is made at 11am this Friday, we can see all our options through to the final. For example, would it be possible to face Bayern over two legs in the semi (first leg away) or could we face them in the final on their patch !

The first part is correct. We don't know any potential opponents beyond the last sixteen yet, though.
i am reading that as we can not play any of the teams in the bottom half of the chart until the semis.

no it’s better to see the chart tomorrow after the draw because Villa could be on either half of the draw like every team left and the will have the true path and fixtures at the moment it’s either/or so it’s somewhat speculative and a this or that scenario.

I hope that helps.
it’s all very exciting though isn’t it CLion?
Everyone looking forward to tomorrow!
Let’s keep the dream going.

We are not in the bottom half of the chart, the quarter finals are pre determined according to the chart, if that is not the case the chart is wrong.

I would rather play arsenal  over two legs than liverpool tbh.

Liverpool are tough side despite yesterday.  Anfield is a tough place to go. Would rather avoid them altogether.

Would like brugges just to avenge that loss. After that i dont care who we draw as all sides left are going to be the best in europe

We know it’s

Round of 16: away 4/5 & home 11/12 March

The draw will tell us who,

Do we know when we know date and KO time? Usual vague unkown wait?

The chart is correct as we are currently on both sides. Friday it will be sorted and then we will know our foe's for last 16 and possible opponents  for QF and SF.

Booking a flight from Birmingham to Brussels is a smart idea as it covers onward travel to both opponents, however I am not doing that.

CL is correct in stating we can't play anyone in the bottom half of each bracket until the SF. It is just a weird thing to pick up when it is separated into brackets anyway on either side.

Vague wait until later in the day. I suspect the club will want Tuesday then Wednesday but I believe Dortmund being home might have first choice.

The draw will also decide the order of the legs for QFs and SFs. I'm assuming we want our potential matches to be drawn second in those if that represents the first tie location.

I think it could be a much of a muchness now anyway. Whichever bracket we are in, we will have one of the league top two (or an apparently inform PSG) to play as I don't think Benfica will win through. And even for our match, I think both Bruges and Dortmund will offer a tough challenge although I fancy us against either at Villa Park, it will be how well we do away which will decide the tie.

All that's fair enough, and I realise we'll have to play one of the top 2 either way.. However if I were to choose a draw, it would probably be Dortmund next with Inter, Leverkusen and Barca dropping into bracket B with us. Not saying we'd beat Barca (if we get through) but it would be a massive tie and preferable to playing Liverpool yet again. I'd also fancy our chances against the rest of the bracket should we get to the semis.

I picked it up because people are claiming that we can still face anyone in the quarters which is obviously wrong.
Insight.

I'd prefer all remaining teams are in the hat each round and you takes your chance on who you'll play.

Same. All they needed to do was have all the top 8 in one hat and all the ones who a play off game in another hat then draw the play offs winners for 1st leg and then top 8 in second leg. Then for next round anyone can draw anyone Not rocket science or difficult so not sure why uefa have to complicate it all

I guess it's to give some sort of "reward" for finishing higher up the league. Otherwise it wouldn't really matter if you came first or eighth.

Obviously you could finish first and draw Real Madrid or finish eighth and draw Brugge so it's not exactly flawless, but I assume that's the reasoning.

Agree with all this.

Cliched as it is, there aren't any easy ties now.  However, Borussia Dortmund look like they're doing similarly 'well' in the Bundesliga as we are in the Premier League, and I think I prefer their side of the bracket to the other.

Barcelona seem like one of those teams we always beat (over 2 legs) ... like a continental Coventry City type team that are just never going to be as good as the Villa.  Then we can go on and beat Bayern (again) in the semi-final, and Phil King can score the winning penalty in the final against Inter.  Piece of piss.
