Not really. They will just sweep it under the carpet.

Sweep what under the carpet? ;-)

I mean, if Monchi has added tickling Čeferin's balls to his list of duties and it means we get some sort of special dispensation that isn't listed in the rules as a result then happy days.

Wouldn't it be nice if there was a 'loophole' that actually favoured us for once?

I don't listen to it, but apparently on the podcast with Dan Bardell (?) and Tanswell they've said that the club believe they can register four players but they (Bardell and Tanswell) can't work out why the club think that, for all the same reasons we've stated on here.

I saw that, I've got a horrible feeling we've made a rookie mistake on this and we're going to have an unhappy player on our hands.

Its not a rookie mistake though. We needed all four players. Whether its 3 or 4 im sure the one missing out will understand  its CL rules and not yhe clubs fault

One player on another players shoulders should fix this.

It's more that we could conceivably have misunderstood the rule and told all of the arrivals they will be in the champions league squad, but actually some may not be.

Would UEFA tell us if we've fucked it up? Or would it have to wait until someone complained further down the line meaning we could potentially get kicked out?

They’ll not accept our additions, you’d hope

Is this worth it's own thread on who miss out

According to Sky Sports

Villa have signed five players in January but and while they also let five players from their List A leave the club at the same time - Jhon Duran, Emiliano Buendia, Kostas Nedeljkovic, Jaden Philogene and Diego Carlos - they can still only register three players.

Had they sold one more player from List A, they could have registered four new players. As a result, they can only register three out of Rashford, Donyell Malen, Andres Garcia, Marco Asensio and Axel Disasi. Two will have to miss out.

Yes, four. Shame for Garcia, but not so bad.

They've changed the wording of the article now to say three, and if we'd moved one more on we could have had 4.

Except they haven't noted that we let Gauci go too, so it was 6.

Duran, Buendia, Philogene, Carlos, and Nedeljkovic were the 5 they reference.

Basically they haven't a clue either.
