Villa should go get Baena, Veiga from Saudi to replace Doug and this Dutch lad.

Like your thinking Ozz but that's close to £100m spend and wages will be crazy.

£70m ish I reckon. Or just go all in on Eze.

The clue is dodgy as feck Uncle Jorge is involved….the deal will go where he wants it too.

Nothing dodgy about Uncle Jorge, he just likes to get paid, he doesn't mind by who. I think he's done his bit to encourage Felix to move to Villa and how good a club it is plus a great place to get his career back on track. Until now we haven't put an offer in.

These days putting in a bid is one of the last things that happens.

I do wonder if it’s even Felix’s choice where he plays at this point. He seems to be owned by Mendes. And I thought Mendes was mates with Nas. Or did I imagine that they had some sort of positive relationship?

Sure. Maybe the problem was not convincing Felix we are worthy of his services. He had his heart set on a return to Barca and may have been told by them they wanted him (on loan again). As good as he could be I think Unai has enough to deal with without trying to redevelop Felix.

I firmly believe there are better options than him at his price, wage and apathy towards actually playing for us. Soule give anywhere yet? Or the very very talented Argentinian in the MLS... forgotten his name. We clearly need a playmaker, creator type.

Blimey a bit defensive there about Mendes. It was said a little tongue in cheek. But as has been seen with Wolves he has immense influence over where his players end up. I’m sure he looks after his clients but Mendes has done very, very well out of managing where they play and the contracts they agree to. I don’t know for sure if that’s the case here but Felix, despite all the talent in the world, doesn’t seem to be able settle anywhere since he burst onto the scene at Benfica.

With how Villa and Chelsea have collaborated at boardroom level this summer, it wouldn’t surprise me if Felix was used in the Gallagher and then moved to us on a season long loan deal with an obligation to buy at the end of it if certain criteria were met.

Will be disappointed if No Centre half or extra striker comes in.

It does feel like we wheeled and dealed to create a stronger squad, but having qualified for Champions League you would have thought we would go and buy 2 players that would walk in and improve our first 11. At the moment the Diaby move is very strange, as no replacement has come in. We are 2 very high quality first teamers down, neither of which we've directly replaced with current similar quality. Monchi has some work to do.

So if Atlético need the money to fund Gallagher and Alverez deals why wouldn’t they be snapping our hands off for Felix?  Why don’t we also put a spanner in the works and put a Bid in for Omorodion?

Interesting idea OCD but Felix has dragged his heels about joining us all summer, why would he agree to joining Chelsea and then join us? Barca maybe but as we discussed earlier without agreement with the player we won't put a bid in. Doing any loan to buy with Chelsea right now is a dangerous move due to possibility of their future transfer ban.

If the deal is to go through it will be interesting to see the values involved. Wasn't Gallagher's fee reported at €40m (£33.7m)? Felix in the deal is apparently €60m, somehow I don't see Chelsea paying the €20m difference.

Maybe Felix does not want to move to a midlands club, and he prefers the bright lights of London.

Is there a rule that Premier League clubs can't sign a player and loan them to another Premier League club in the same window?
