I’d sell McGinn before Luiz as well.

Nurse! The only reasons to sell SJM before Dougie is age and to give SJM's legs a rest having carried Dougie these last 4 months. Neither can play as many minutes again as this season so hopefully with new central midfield alternatives we'll have our Rolls Royce back and SJM won't be rushed back after the Euro's.

Well it’s not an idea. It’s debating what you’d do if Tim had to sell a star player.
Ok, I see. I guess you ment Unai not Tim

Yeah no idea what happened with autocorrect there.

Shocking we haven't signed one yet. ;) We'll get one, no worries.

I'm slowly coming around to signing Barkley, good price and this time playing more centrally rather than a 10. We need more ball carriers in this team and hell will hopefully allow SJM and Dougie time to recover and up their game to the standards we all know they're capable of reaching.

I'd imagine Tim's sales pitch relies heavily on large amounts of hyperbole.

I reckon we're gonna bank on the Barkleys of this world.
If only it could've been a loan deal

BBC gossip has us making a bid for Acuna, again. We're interested in Raoul Bellanova too, and Andrea Cambiaso according to Italian outlets.

All defenders, I think?

Another article said that it's Arsenal that are interested in Cambiaso, and not us.

Passing thought...presumably once we're into a new financial year, and one that includes Champions League, the reigns can be loosened a little. Can't remember when we moved our end of year to - 1st of June or 30th June?

30th June. It was previously 31st May.

I asked in another thread, where did you read that our turnover would hit £300m this season?

I read so many articles, I've not a clue. It was saying that we will break our record and another record for clubs outside of the traditional top 6. We won't know until it's published but it's possible.

Completely agree.
The idea of selling SJM at this point sends shivers. Not only brilliant last season and our heartbeat, he’s been throughout our resurgence. Sentimental maybe and I know at some stage he’ll choose to leave or be eased out, but not yet and I think its pretty amazing to have someone at the club with that loyalty whose seen us through the Smith renaissance, the temporary dog days of Gerrard, through to what could be glory years with Emery.

To be honest, maybe naïve of me, but this probably my favourite group of Villa players and I’d be loathe of us to sell any of Martinez, Konsa, Digne, Moreno, Luiz, SjM, Ramsey, Rogers, Kamara, Watkins, Bailey, Diaby of Tielemans, yet. We need to be keeping this core together.

The 3 rumours that are/have been circulating quite strongly could be seen as direct replacements for the chaff:  Hermoso/Lenglet, Barkley/Dendoncker and Acuna now allowing us to sell (probably) Digne (who looked as thoough he'd already left in the 1st half of the Liverpool game.  With Nedeljkovic already in we can wave goodbye to Chambers. The quoted price for Acuna is 15m euros, Hermoso is a freebie and Barkley is a "snip", the fee we could get for Digne (£18-20m?) and Dendo (£3-5m) seems like good business to me.
