We've about £20m in the red over our dealing to date, including JPB & Archer. Depending on who we shift will dictate who we can bring in. The closer we get to the deadline the more bargains there will be.

Out
Moreno or Digne - sell
Carlos - sell
Dendonker - loan
Archer - loan
Duran - sell

In
Geertruida
Felix
Another centre forward

There's no chance we will be signing Felix. He will likely end up back at Chelsea but we can't afford him under PSR rules I think that's pretty clear..

I would sell all of the above if possible, except for Digne. The problem is, who would want to buy the likes of Archer and Demdoncker?

Sell Donk rather than loan him unless the loan fee is good and they cover his wages.

We saw last season having players starting 50+ games means there is a point they burn out. The squad is deeper and almost everyone now has a part to play.

Moving Carlos is key to bringing in the versatile defender and Duran going will allow another striker to be brought in.

How do loans work vs FFP?

There could also be a load of bluff about the squad being at capacity... and we can actually bring in one or two more without selling anyone.

The cost of the loan / wages are included I believe. Or removed if we loan out.

We do need to get people out because we've just got too many bodies now. You see how much of a joke Chelsea's squad is. The problem is a lot of other clubs are really slow to get started. It seemed like the gears didn't even start turning at most clubs until the players were back in training.

The Euros / Copa América / Olympics probably played a part in that as well.

It sort of is and it’s sort of just idiocy. Theyll never keep 50+ players happy, which means they’re going to be constantly scrambling to sell them or loan them out. Eventually, they’ll start receiving lower fees than they paid for them and PSR will bite. That is, unless they can keep finding loop holes like selling hotels to themselves. Now that bit really is taking the piss

Or the powers at be change the rules to benefit chelsea

Its just a laughable situation

Take your tin hat off mate. The rules may well change but they’ll be voted on by the 20 clubs. They’ll benefit Chelsea if their interests align with the majority, that’s it.

Hard not to be a bit tin hat-ish when Man U are given 'exceptional allowances' relating to covid and takeover costs to ensure they meet PSR.

Unless that was a clickbait type article and all was above board, I haven't bothered reading into it too much cos PSR does my head in.

I read somewhere that it's a nothing-to-see-here thing, based on the fact that they're registered on the New York stock exchange and so have to disclose more detailed breakdowns of the finances. Something like that anyway.

Earlier this week, Stefan Borson, a football finance expert, told talkSPORT that United would have failed Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) if they had not been granted an "exceptional allowance", after accounting for a £40 million loss due to Covid in 2021-22.

"United would have failed PSR for the season just gone, save for two things," Borson said. "One, they were given, it appears, an exceptional allowance of £40m for Covid in 2022, which no other club had.

"On top of that, it seems they have been given an allowance for around £35m of exceptional costs relating to the share sale to (Sir Jim) Ratcliffe.

"The only way in which they can make the 2023-24 PSR number, and this is not just my view based on publicly available information in the US, was by having these allowances."

The Athletic has now explained the verbiage used. The term "exceptional" in this instance does not imply any special treatment - merely it is a term that is used by clubs in their accounts to explain costs that aren't regular.

Per football finance expert Kieran Maguire, United have to declare their losses related to Covid because they are listed on the New York Stock Exchange and therefore must disclose more information. The £40m loss is attributed to the club cancelling their 2021 summer tour, debts incurred from commercial partners, United being unable to fulfil certain sponsorship obligations and rebates owed to broadcasters.

While United had to share their losses in publicly-available accounts, The Athletic's report reveals that their Premier League rivals used a private method to submit details of Covid-linked losses. Clubs were allowed to incorporate the financial impact of Covid in their PSR calculations, which explains how United and others were able to avoid being penalised.

#AVFC defender Lino Sousa is in talks to join Bristol Rovers on a season-long loan.

19yo held discussions with Watford earlier this summer but is now working towards an agreement with Bristol Rovers.
