Young Boys were fined €28k for their fan behavior when they played Man City in Manchester a few weeks back. They had flares, vandalised seats and toilets in the stadium, threw some stuff, and a few other crowd disturbances. They were given a 1 match ban on selling tickets for away games, but that is suspended for 2 years. Not at all the same level as what we saw yesterday, but I wouldn't be surprised if there's no major punishment for Legia.
Reassuring to see that the deplorable behaviour of the away fans is now taking centre stage on this thread as opposed to the initial posts inexplicably questioning the antics of WMP.
It's pretty clear to me that we're trying to alert UEFA to Legia’s part in last night's events. The club seems to have been wholly complicit in the whole sorry affair and don't appear to be prepared to accept any responsibility. For conspiracy theorists - are we hoping UEFA kick them out of this year's competition?
Didn't realize there were no away fans at ground yesterday as I was at far end of lower Witton Lane (the bit that blocks loads of Holte End seats from seeing anything) - appreciate there were tonnes of Legia dickheads but we have a few of our own and imagine the furore if we had our fans banned from entering a ground away in Europe and spent hundreds of thousands on an away day? This is a worrying development and reminds me of some of the shit you get North if the border with the Old Firm!
