I reckon we might go back in for Joao Felix.

Even though his move to Chelsea didn't work out, he is a tremendously talented player who I think Emery would get the best out of him.

I reckon a cut price deal between 40-50 million would see him come to us.
Is this actually happening then ?  I know he's not staying at Chelsea . I would take a big loan option for 2 seasons. See what he and Villa can do together.

Please let us sign him!

Listening to Leeds fans, we dodged a bullet the size of a house not signing McKennie in January.

Listening to Leeds fans, they'd be gutted if we signed Tyler Adams. He's the one player they have that they actually highly rate.

He’s very good.

You said last week "I don't think he's a big improvement on anybody we've got to be honest." Change of heart?

I think most of us believe that players who improve on our current midfield four are very rare. We just need more around that level.
And most of us believe players who score more goals would improve us.

I think scoring goals is very important aspect of the team and the midfielders have to contribute.

We absolutely need more goals from midfield but in order to get that you can’t sacrifice how hard our midfield (& forward) players work off the ball and the press to retrieve it….so it’s not as easy as just identifying those that score, they have to contribute to the overall way we play.  This is why Theilemans in particular makes me a little nervous as every time I watched Leicester this season he was swanning with very little pace/press/bite….likewise JWP.

Ward Prowse scored 9 league goals.
More goals than not only Aston Villa midfielders but more than KDB, Gundogan and Bruno Fernandes.

He would improve our offensives both for set plays and from his midfield role.

9 goals is good absolutely (does he take pens?), being the leader of the midfield of the team that finished comfortably bottom of the league, not good.  Was decent before with Romeu doing the hard work around him…reminds me of Hitzlsperger, fantastic shot but in general play runs around 2 yards behind play because in terms of this league they are slow.

Yes, he takes penalties, but Southampton don't get a hatful of them unlike some teams. He's got almost a 1 in 5 games scoring record in the Premier League which is good. I get the comparison, but I think he's better than Hitzlsperger was.

JWP is fine as well as we want to have greater possession of the ball. He's good at passing. Emery would have made obvious his positional awareness, and he would have studied JWP to see whether he could be used in the team. And he contributions for goals and ability at set plays would be a real positive.

I consider Manchester City and how they use Kyle Walker's speed when you take their midfield Rhodri,Gundogan, and Phillips even KDB aren't particularly swift, and Rhodri would commit those sly tactical fouls to hold up play.
Brighton midfielders like McAllister and Gross aren't fast but show the intelligence to press and cacideo has energy but JWP offers alot on the ball and that would be the reason to sign him. Off the ball he's capable but agree he doesn't have the obvious signs of energetic pressing however he can do that

If Emery does sign JWP, I believe he has a plan on how to use him in the team and get him and the players around him to work well together.
That's just transfer speculation, but I have no objections to signing quality footballers.

If that is the case it is unfortunate as he would take our side up a level, absolutely a top, top player (my dream signing)!

Apparently Southampton want £50m+ for JWP.

Even I think that's ridiculous.

It surely has West Ham written all over after selling Rice. Could maybe see him at Newcastle but apart from that I don't see anyone stumping that sort of money up for him.
