I think he’s probably perfect for the impact sub role at the moment. He has loads of quality, and he brings chaotic energy when he comes on. I think that’s perfect against tiring defenders.

And it's working a treat plus it will give Ollie time to get back to his best. Sounds like a reasonable plan to me.

Not that I don’t think Duran deserves more game time. Just don’t understand why we have to shit on players whenever they are going through a poor bit of form. Especially when they’ve already proven how brilliant they are.

Well in Emery's current system they can't both play. And saying Watkins isn't playing well isn't 'shitting on him', whatever that means. It's just stating fact, I'm sure Ollie himself knows he's well below par having not scored in 8 games now.

I was talking about the original post I responded to. You’ve not said anything I’ve really disagreed with. But you’re responded to my posts where I’m responding to someone talking about him being “really rubbish” and that he HAS to be dropped. Neither of which is a fact, as far as I’m concerned.

Dont think anyone is shtting on ollie - merely pointing out ollies had a poor start to the season and durans had a excellent start so duran is pushing for a deserved start. If ollie wants to stay as starter he needs to improve.

Everton at home is a perfect opportunity

If you’d have said that, I’d have agreed. You actually said Duran has to start and that Watkins has been really rubbish. That doesn’t give him to opportunity to improve against Everton.

When Duran scored at Leicester it felt as though practically every other Villa fan sang the Jhon Duran song. Although I go to every game I had never heard it before. How did you all get to know it and can anyone show the words please?

OK to flip it about a bit, how many games has Ollie got to play poorly in, and how many more goals has Duran got to score before the latter is deemed worthy of a start?

He’s more than an impact sub
At only 20 years old he’s probably one of Europes top young strikers, how many other u21’s out and out strikers are valued at 40 mill

There’s not many true number 9’s out there anyway (we’ve got 2) never mind really young ones
He’s either going to score a bucket load of goals for us or someone else It’s as simple as that.

I’ve got no issue with him starting the next game, if Emery believes we can play his way with Duran starting. As it stands I think Duran is already worthy of a start, but I also think it’d be harsh on Watkins. He’s still getting into the positions you’d want him in, he could be on 4 goals in 3 goals if it wasn’t for some poor finishing.
