Apparently he's already equalled the record of three match-winning goals by a player coming on as substitute in a single Premier League season.

Not bad for four matches in.

This has always puzzled me but as his goal v Leicester put us two up and then they scored a consolation why is that called a match winning goal?

Because if he hadn’t scored it the final result would have been 1-1.

Wrong surely as if he hadn't scored it the whole sequence of what followed wouldn't have meant Leicester necessarily scored.

Not worth overthinking it , effectively his goal won us the game

I bet Pickford kept seeing that ball coming at him when he closed his eyes to sleep.
To be fair, Pickford had a damn good go at stopping the goal but it eluded him.

Took my eldest daughter to the game on Saturday for a change
She informed me that Pickford’s shorts were too small for him a wee bit to snug apparently

That overcomplicates things so most stats use the one that puts you one ahead of the opposition, whenever it's scored. So in a 5-0 tonking the first is the winner and in a 5-3 the 4th is.

I wonder why he hasn't been in front of the media the last few games. Given all that happened over the summer, and how he's been playing, and that wonder goal, you'd think they'd by dying to speak to him, even just on MotD or something.

I wonder is he banned from doing it, just being protected from it, or just hasn't got great English?

Maybe he's learned a lesson to do his talking on the pitch.

Although I heard Draper's Italian was coming on fine for when he moved to Barcelona.

Probably safe to remove “signed” from the end of this thread name, because you know…it’s been a while.
Yes. All this appending of things to titles seems very superfluous to me.

And they're never updated.

"Alright, you be a f-ing mod, then! Wait, you can't, cos you're a moody bastard."

I thought that was a line from Quadrophenia until I checked to see what you were answering.

I think I'd be a brilliant mod. Thread titles would be razor-sharp like military bed sheets, and order would be restored to match threads. ;-)

I can think of three immediate bannings that would make this place far better.
