He probably expected him to be off when he made those comments after the Liverpool game.

McGinn might be club captain, but he said too much last season and probably shouldn't be discussing his attitude in any detail now.  'He's training well and is a great asset to the team' should suffice

The longer version of that interview sounds like McGinn knows he shouldn't have said what he said last season, and is trying to make up for it now by praising his growth.
He should have that looked at.

Dont think anyone is shtting on ollie - merely pointing out ollies had a poor start to the season and durans had a excellent start so duran is pushing for a deserved start. If ollie wants to stay as starter he needs to improve.

Everton at home is a perfect opportunity

If you’d have said that, I’d have agreed. You actually said Duran has to start and that Watkins has been really rubbish. That doesn’t give him to opportunity to improve against Everton.

Which isnt that the truth? Hasnt ollie been bad the last three games? Im not saying anything that isnt correct there.

The second part hasnt duran started the season well and is pushing for a start? Generally speaking you dont keep playing players who perform poorly over x amount of games.

If ollie has another bad game vs everton and duran scores again how can you leave duran out?

I don’t think he’s been really rubbish, no. He’s missed some chances but for the main part his work off the ball has still been better than whenever Duran has been on the pitch.

Duran is certainly pushing for a start but he doesn’t HAVE to start, which is what you said.

You can leave Duran out if you think that overall Watkins will give you more in the first part of a game and Duran is more dangerous coming on against a tired defence. If Duran starts a game and proves his overall game is worth more to the team than Watkins, then you can’t leave him out.

But is still probably over-sharing a bit, to be honest.

He also over-shared a close-up of his arse on X with a Lesta player trying to squeeze his Scottish nuts.

But over-sharing is the name of the game in 2024 so crack on Meatball(s).

Imo ollie needs to start but that's more about his pressing game which is top level, even when his game with the ball isn't quite there right now. Does Duran have the discipline to stick to a game plan and press like we need, I'm really not so sure yet

Agreed. He's an over-shary canary. I think he just doesn't like him.

Yup, all of that. Also, the way that we play with Duran at striker is different to the way the we play with Watkins as striker, both in terms of pressing without the ball and build-up with the ball.

So it's not just a case of sticking a body at the front of the team - it impacts how all the other players have to approach the game as well.

As you say, if in time it looks like Duran's value in starting rather than playing the last thirty minutes becomes great enough that adapting the lineup and style to accommodate that, I'm sure we will. We're quite a way off that point though.

To put it into context Man United paid 72 million for Rasmus Hojlund (21)
Who do you think Is the player right now

The other one they've paid a fortune for doesn't look half the player Jhon is either.

Is that the one that looks like the fella out of Boney M

Yes that's him mate! :)

Sad and ashamed to say that Boney M are my musical guilty pleasure

what was that weird story re the location and circumstances of the singer’s death?

Didn’t drown in the rivers of Babylon but something similar.

He died in Saint Petersburg, Russia which was Rasputin home town, 94 years to the day of Rasputin’s death.

Remember that one at spurs in cup when they pulled helenius shorts down as well? Some x rated things getting unpunished
