I see Keith Wyness has said that we should sell him for £20m so someone else who thinks we should sell him for less than his worth. You can see why Wyness didn't cut it as a chairman.
Agree with KW on this .
And if we are really smart,  we can push it down to 15

Tim's offered to give Monchi a hand, if need be.

Hope so; I think Demitri_C meant to say Jhon had acted…

Do we? We apparently we have a valuation of him, as we will every player at the club, and are flat out rejecting offers that are supposedly very close to it. Doesn't smack of a club desperate to be rid of a player.

Don’t we tell every player/agent the value we’d accept at the end of each season?  They can then choose to seek a buyer or knuckle down.
I’m sure I read this in an article about either Monchi or Vidagany.

I read it as we say this to players who we are prepared to let go if they can sort out a deal.

I heard every player. I think it was one of The Athletic blokes, Evans or Tanswell.

Me too.  If we don’t want to sell then the figure is stupidly high or as high as any release clause permits.  The logic in the article was that all player know where the stand.

Market forces are already sorting the price out . It isn't £40M or £30M . Snap anyone's hand off at £20M .. suspect it will be less when we finally get shot

Not really - he’s clearly very talented and has goals in him. If he’s reintegrated this season he will score important goals for us and clubs will always want a player that does that. It’d be mad to sell him for what we paid for him.

We don't know what West Ham offered. Knowing Sullivan it was probably a lot lower than £30M

Scores a couple of early goals from the bench someone pays £40 plus. Kids got more potential than most out there, Villa are right to play hard ball.

And if he bangs in a few v West Ham they’ll stump up.

My general feeling is if the relationship with the manager, coaches and players isn't broken then I think I'd rather just keep him now.  He's an outstanding option from the bench and will surely get a fair few starts in the cups.  So long as he keeps performing we will still get a decent fee next summer if he still wants to go.

I think if the relationship had broken beyond repair then we would have made the West Ham deal work one way or another.
