And this is what Mings gives us. He is a natural leader and badly missed.

He has in the past and hope he can do so in the future.

Yes but we need present-s.

We're signing to many players who are having minimal impact on the team. How many of these players have been signed by Unai over the last 4 windows?

Rogers has had a big impact as did Onana before his injury. Tielemans had a huge impact at the start of this season while Onana was fit and starting. Torres had a massive influence on the way we play. Also I was gutted we lost Diaby, he added much more to our game.

We’ve signed a lot of potential which is what most teams do now to get around the financial rules.

We’ve just lost to a very good side in excellent form, it doesn’t have to be the end of the world again.

The wins against the two teams with the worst away records in the league are looking like blips.

Emerys we need to learn  from this - sorry unai but these defensively performances have been happening all season in fact towards the end of last season it was happening  too. We conceded 8 in our last two. The warning signs were there and we did nothing to address it.

With respect, what the fuck do you want him to say?

How can he not fix the defence? Kamara back and in great form, the "world's number one" in goal, a £50m defensive midfielder on the bench, and it's still like Laurel and hardy at the back. It's getting beyond a joke.

Uh oh.

Prefer him to be honest and say something like

'To lose a game in that fashion is not acceptable. Defensively we need to be better, the fans expect it, we as a club expect it. Late goals happen but to concede two in this manner is simply not good enough. I assure you we will  work hard in training this week to ensure this does not happen again. I am very disappointed  but congratulations to forest for their Victory"

Throw in a sobbing jab at the officials and you've got Steve Cooper down pat.

I'm annoyed enough about the game, I don't see the utility whatsoever in getting annoyed about the flavour of inane polyfiller Emery has to say to some gormless hack until they finally leave him alone.

Yes, I believe he’s mentioned it a couple of times before.

I don't care about what manager's say in press conferences either, it's not really important. Most of them wouldnt do it if they had the choice.

When you see some of the individual mistakes made then it’s very difficult to sort out. You can coach shape and positioning but a lot of the mistakes are unbelievable. We’ve got to accept that a few just aren’t good enough to maintain a standard and need replacing.

That’s all very well, but it doesn’t really explain why certain posters think we should pick the very worst combination of defenders we can.

First things first, pick Konsa and Mings together. We know that works. If you can’t pick those two, pick Carlos and Pau with Konsa at RB. We know that works more often than Konsa and Pau with Cash at RB. Well, those who can count do.

I think he'll shake up his coaching group at some point. He needs to do so, because the front line make so many poor decisions and the back 4 are inexplicably unorganised at times. Neither of those things gives you consistency. He's had a 2 year honeymoon, now he needs to solve some problems.

I’d agree with that but I’m just totally fed up with the basic and suicidal mistakes now. The midfield also need to step up and defend better.
That collapse yesterday was predictable and unsurprising but totally unacceptable.
There’s no way Emery doesn’t think so as well so we have what we have until we can improve.
When you think back to the Bayern game you have to wonder why we can’t defend like that more often than not in the league.
