Well we had a very sticky patch through the late Autumn, form and results both being poor, but what a difference 3 wins on the bounce makes.

Hopefully the players are buzzing this morning (I know I am!), and this gives them the confidence and belief to go on a cracking season defining run.

Unai got a lot right last night, what a manager he is.

Good summary. Can't wait to see how Emery tackles the next few fixtures which are all tricky but definitely winnable.

I don’t think there’s any coach, anywhere that could achieve what Emery has with us.
Throughout the recent tough run I don’t think there were many who questioned him pulling us through it. He’s an absolute genius.

I think it's really cute how he learned the phrase 'more or less' earlier this year and now uses it, more or less, in every sentence. Five times in one minute in his post match interview yesterday I counted. Plus I'm sure his persistence with saying 'good evening' at the start of every interview shoves it up the nose of the twats who take the piss of his perfectly good multi-lingualism.

He is indeed a genius and we've seen a return to some of tactical flexibility of his early reign in recent weeks with tweaks in formation, style and approach. I loved that about him when he first came in, he played narrow and pressed high at Brighton to squeeze their strengths then played over Newcastle's press and overloaded wide areas in the 3-0 win over Noocastle, which I still think is the best full 90 performance of his reign.

He'll surely win us something. The Champions League wouldn't be a bad first trophy.

I read an awful game summary in the Independent recently, think it was the draw V Juventus. The journo tried to say we were in a slump we’d struggle to get out of because Emery is so stubborn. Also mentioned some booing as the players left at half time (which was aimed at the referee not the team!). All utter tosh, Emery has and continues to perform wonders.

3 wins in 10 days, showing a return to form and sticking one right up the arse of those hipster twats at Football Ramble who utterly wrote us off a week or so back and said Emery had taken us as far as he could. Wankers.

More wishful thinking from the press I think.
Emery maybe stubborn but that’s a plus as he’s confident in his ability and the tactics that have made him the coach he is today.

I agree on that and said the same to my Liverpool supporting mate last week. Banging long balls over them and targeting their freakishly tall left back with a centre of gravity so powerful it could suck in light itself (ie John's arse) was also the work of utter genius.

They are insufferable.

Fuck! I knew that podcast would get me eventually. How me of me.

I draw the line at Tifo though, I hope it burns.

I haven't listened to the Football Ramble so can't comment, but I tried about 5 episodes of Tifo at one point last season and really struggled with it. Not a fan.

Let's not forget that EIGHT of the team at Leipzig were playing under the charlatan who preceded Unai (it would have been nine if Tyrone had played instead of Pau). How he has developed individuals, built a resilient and attractive team and always found solutions is quite remarkable. Long may it continue!
