Well good luck to him. Gave his all and was a big part of a couple of the most pleasing recent results we've had.

I know Percy has his stats that back up that he was better than people give him credit for but that’s the trouble with stats, you can make them work for your argument to suit. He frightened me to death when in possession of the ball at the back, exemplified by his pass to a ManU player when under no pressure which allowed them back into the game 2 boxing days ago. Unforgivable that was. There were some good moments as well, that long accurate pass to Rogers that allowed him to feed Duran for the 2nd goal v Bologna is one.Emery clearly didn’t rate him and played him when needs must. I’m glad he’s now gone and hopefully he will be replaced by someone who doesn’t frighten me when in possession of the ball.

I’m glad he’s now gone and hopefully he will be replaced by someone who doesn’t frighten me when in possession of the ball. That’s all very well, but it’s irrational. It doesn’t really matter if you’re scared about what might happen. Unless you think that trumps what actually happens. If Emery didn’t rate him, why did he put him in for all home and away games v Man City, Arsenal and Liverpool last season? Cash or Konsa weren’t injured. Bayern Munich, Leiozig, Juve, Bologna and Bruges this season. Like you say, ‘when needs must’ - he picked him for games he thought we’d struggle to score more than one goal in and a clean sheet was imperative to us wining the points..And he was dead right mostly. Thank god he wasn’t thinking about some of our fans being nervous.Anyway, I’m glad he’s gone. He’s nearly 32 and was on big money. I like the look of Bade, and I won’t miss trying to convince people that a defence that lets fewer goals in and keeps clean sheets is better than one that concedes more goals and keeps less clean sheets. Some people spend hours disagreeing with that.
Good luck and nice knowing you, Rory. And you, Diego. I always liked you more than most Villa fans. Don't forget to take Haaland out of your pocket before your flight, or you'll have to declare him.
