Sometimes you just have to accept that you're up against a decent player, and Cashy did okay when he was on, he tried to get tight, but was always a booking in waiting.

Disasi is a better centre half than full back, but again it's no shame if a winger of the quality PSG have gets past you.

Garcia looks great going forward, and looks a good size for a modern full back, but I've not seen him tested by a decent winger yet.

I do wonder who we could get in who would be a better defensive option than Cash or Garcia, the likes of Hakimi or Frimpong are great going forward but not brilliant defending, we need a Luca Digne right footed version.

The last line is exactly what I thought yesterday.
I have often thought what would be like if we had a RB at his level.

It's a bit redundant though isn't it? After trying Ned, Garcia, Cash, Konsa and Disasi there with varying levels of success we're not going to be putting our resources into another right-back.

Hopefully the plan is give Garcia a summer of homework studying Cafu and Zanetti to add the defending bit and he's there for the next decade.

Well Disasi probably won't be here next year and Konsa is way too valuable at a CB to be wasted out of that position.  If we sell Cash we'll get, what?, 20-25m??  NED will be what we paid for him 9m (?), unless we bring KKH back and intergrate him for next season, but I doubt that's the plan he's not young now and we'll probablt unload him for PSR reasons.  That's the sharp end of £35-40m.  There must be somebody out there for that kind of money.  A slightly quicker, right footed Lucas Digne, agreed.

In the premier league who would be an upgrade on Cash ?

Ben White or Reece James potentially, but they’ve got big time Charlie vibes about them, and would cost a fortune I’m guessing.

The only other one who I could think of is Munoz of Palace but not sure how good defensively he is.

Matty Cash is always missed when he doesn't play. It might say more about those trying to take his place than Cash himself. Garcia to be fair looks a real prospect and far more comfortable on the ball. He will probably get another start v Soton and can put real pressure on next season.

With Konsa or Disasi it's the same old story. It works the odd time when we are sat in a low block, Brentford (Disasi) or Bayern (Konsa) and the play is in front of them. But more often that not, centre backs in that position tuck in far too narrow. Both have that habit. Then when we have the ball, neither really want the ball there.

Munoz plays as a WB alongside an unambiguous back 3 ... not sure certain members of this community would buy that, and - more importantly - it doesn't appear to be what Emery wants.

I like Cash, but he is the position most would feel needs an upgrade to be consistently challenging at the top end. He's been a great signing all told.

Looking at the alternatives then, maybe Garcia could be the answer, a semi final game up against Eze would be a good test for him.

I learnt from MOTD last weekend that Muñoz has an iron lung. He gets up and down the pitch like no one else apparently. Sometimes it's nice to not skip the analysis and see Danny Murphy and Co. work their footballing brains publicly. :D

All ifs and buts, but had the ref not given him that shit yellow last week he may well have kept that number 7 quieter and given us a better chance tonight. Great performance this evening.

Only mistake was not getting back soon enough for the first goal.  He's watching the ball when the run is made.  Otherwise he kept tight and prevented too much coming down the left (considering the quality of the opposition), also got forward well in the 2nd half.
