From the Premier League rules:

"The proximity of the player whose hand or arm makes contact with the ball to where the ball was struck from will still be an important consideration for officials when making a decision to award handball or not."

It was what, two foot away?

if that, and, in my opinion, Jimenez aimed it at his arm.

The Jimenez elbow into Cash's head 2nd half was a bit naughty and i thought VAR should of looked at that

I hoped the proximity would let him off the hook but have your arm out like he had isn't a natural position. He's become a liability.

He's a mid-table right-back (which is some achievement). Nowhere near good enough for us now.

Luts Geertruida hasn't given away one let alone two penalties this season!

Yeah of all players under Emery he is the one who hasn't improved.

He's very likeable, not overly media-trained with stock responses, he always shows some of his personality in interviews.

Very kinds words about Bouba too:

Ok...but has he been demanding in his way? I have my doubts.

This is essentially my opinion. A very good player by any sane measurement, but that doesn't mean he's quite up to Champions League contendership level anymore than not being so makes him somehow 'shit'.

The way he turned out of trouble to set up our first suggests he's still a bit better than some imagine. Seems a player whose mistakes are singled out and his successes mainly ignored.

My thoughts too. He's conceded two penalties this season, but after the initial "FFS Cash, again" response, you can see that both decisions were questionable at least, and other than that his performances this season have been very good.

Yesterday he made the third most passes of any Villa player after Tielemans and Carlos, and did so with a 92% pass success rate. He had the second most touches of a Villa player, made the most blocks, and most clearances. Ignoring the dubious handball, he had a good game.

He had a great game I thought, never a pen IMO. Too close to do anything about it and poor from the ref/VAR team (as usual).
