He has all the skill but can't handle the hard tackling, better of abroad.

He needs to be playing as an out and out winger, he isn’t a 10 or a second striker.

May as well play Buendia or Coutinho as an attacking central midfielder instead and push Bailey on the wing. Would need to drop SJM or Ramsey then though, so I see Unais predicament

What difference would being an out and out winger make?

He can't beat a man, he can run fast just so long as he doesn't have the ball, he resorts to slack shouldered moping when things don't go for him.

His failure to even pretend to do something to stop Arsenal's fourth goal was really, really poor.

It's not going to work for him here.

I reckon Bailey ends up back in a lower quality or slower paced European league next season. Where he will likely do ok, probably play in European competition, and we will catch the odd great goal or lovely piece of skill in highlights packages.

He does seem to be an all or nothing player. We’re not getting enough 7 out of 10 performances. We know he won’t put a shift in when it’s not going well and that he just doesn’t fancy physical duels. Got to be one we look to sell in the summer while he’s still got a couple of years left on this contract.

Other than that Everton home game have we ever had a 7 out of 10 performance from him?

5 out of 10 would be a vast improvement on what we are seeing.

Leeds at home I guess, he won us that one.

There is more effort put in on this thread than Bailey would ever show on the pitch.

That’s the main problem as I see it. He can contribute games like Brentford, Leeds and Man Utd at home which are 8/9 out of 10 performances for me. Soton away, Crystal Palace away were probably 5/6 out of 10. Nice cameo at home to Arsenal and away to Bolton and Man Utd in the league cup. But the rest of his games this season have been 3 out of 10 for me. At times you barely notice him on the pitch. If he could add even another handful of games at a medium level that could justify more investment. But with 2 years left in his contract in the summer, it would probably mean giving him a new contract and I just don’t think he’s worth it.

I think If anything we make excuses for him and over rate abysmal performances from him more often then it deserves. He's been woeful and gives the ball away an incredible amount of times. We'll see just how poor he was when we get in a decent replacement. Much like Wesley who we papered over poor performances. This guy is nowhere near the required quality for where we need to be.

He has had more 'lives' than all the cats in a cat farm put together.

Come the summer, put a bid in for Raheem Sterling. Chelsea don't need him, they have about 400 players already.
