Apparently he's been nominated for a Puskas Award for his rabona goal on a wet Tuesday night in Rotherham last season for Hull.

Good man, Jaden. Win that award, gain confidence from it and ram it up our collective arses by assisting and scoring 12 and 7 respectively for the Villa over the next 6 months. Cheers!

I hope he does find his form because he's a much better player than we've seen so far, but you need to grasp your chances even if they're fleeting and he's not done that.

Vital we get in a European competition next season. We need these games to bring through Jaden, Iling Jnr etc.

The CL is probably too much for them and players like cash but the europa league would be ideal.

It'd be better if we got CL again and were able to buy better players though.

If 5th gets CL we need to really go for it even if that means sacrificing CL this year.

I think we should be focusing more on the league. Qualifying for CL again is vital  if we want to continue to progress

Throw the competition, that is the ultimate prize, in order to focus on trying to qualify to play in it next year.

Trying to understand this is like eating an ice cream too quickly.

Is it me or does this site have some bizarre posts sometimes.
Throw the competition we fought so hard to qualify for, and put the 5th place spot in jeopardy by just not bothering while we're in it?

Emery himself has said similar though. The Premier League is very much his priority.

I’m with Demitri on this. Villa aren’t winning the Champions League this season, so qualifying again for next year is more important*. A continual presence in the CL is important for making progress. I’m not saying that Emery should ‘Moscow’ the competition, but if players need resting, the Champions League is where it should happen.

* not that I think Villa will finish as high as fifth.

I do wonder if he is struggling to adapt to the tactical discipline that Unai demands. He looked a genuinely exciting attacking threat last season but we really haven’t seen anything of that..

Weird thing is that against bayern was his best match and that was mostly due to discipline and tactical nous, the part he seems to be struggling most with is beating a man, holding on to the ball and progressive passing

His Bayern performance was very good indeed, but I don’t think we should discount the impact of having had Konsa behind him, and because they had most of the possession Jaden was rarely more than 10 yards in front of Ezra - which means the communication behind him will have been loud, clear and often. That will have helped enormously on the tactical front.

If we progress it’s because we are playing well enough and that will help us push up in the league. I’m enjoying every minute of it as in my time this sort of level is rare. Sacrifice it? No thanks
