Great news. Capacity increased to 50k, the design looks good, and we're staying at Villa Park for the foreseeable future.

Well as you know, they can build up the sides and other things without affecting anything but the side boxes / TV during the seasons. Then they will do any work with removing the "goal posts" and the redoing the roof / joining the together in the close seasons.

A collection of hot air balloons with fans will be tethered allowing a full 360 view of the pitch while building work is in process.

I think adding another 7k+ seats, without reducing the capacity at any point for current fans, is something worth praising.  So well done to all involved.

I also think it puts to bed the talk of a stadium move any time soon (it'll be at least another decade before it raises its head again, you'd imagine). 

Can we assume this means a deal has been struck with the local council regarding travel infrastructure? I thought investment in expanding the stadium was dependent on improvements to match-day travel options?

Obviously words are currently just words but.....

I think it's also strange that they haven't said what the new capacity will be, except "over 50k".  It might be that the exact details inside the ground aren't confirmed yet?

Excellent. Much better than closing the North. Imagine having had a 3 sided ground for the Champions League etc this season.

Now we continue, expand and I'll even move a couple of places closer to the front of the season ticket queue!

There's a statement from the mayor saying about the new station, so sure they have addressed the station issue.
