Didn't Bendall escape a court appearance by dying?

I am curious as to how people at the back of the North Stand upper now feel, as those side panels are hacked out – I'm sure the football in a wind tunnel wasn't quite how those seats were priced at the start of the season.

I've had a season ticket on the back row since we came up, really liked it up there until this season when they crammed in extra rows and seats and I'm now surrounded by tourists and day trippers from the 'Star & Lion', the wind tunnel hasn't been a factor so far but would have been interesting at the Southampton game.

I can't move my season ticket but have shifted my seat for the Forest game to the Holte and will do so for each of the remaining games (except PSG, as I've just had to purchase the same seat)

Before my time, but gather he did some dodgy dealings to do with building the North Stand.

With the amount of building materials that went through the books the North Stand should have been twice the size*
*allegedly.

Comparisons were made at the time with the amount of materials in/supporting the North Stand and all of Spaghetti Junction.

Surely being crooked was part of the job description for any football chairman in that era. The opportunities to cook the books are everywhere from suspect player transfers to dodgy turnstile receipts and all manner of wheeler dealing. It must have been near universal

I'll be honest, I don't understand what the difference will be, unless it only has last years items stocked??

24 months to finish it. Heck will be selling seats in it way before then, even if they're plastic fold up ones sitting on barely dry concrete.
To be fair Doug opened the North Stand way before it was finished too.
Remember being up there wet paint, the side panels not on, was like a wind tunnel

He wasn't chairman then.
oh yes course , he came back after 1982. Must have been Bendall then. Point stands though, the stand wasn't quite finished yet they opened it.

Try Harry Kartz.
Might have been William Dugdale . Looks like the North Stand opened in Oct 77

It was the offices that were built in the stand a couple of years later that caused the near bankruptcy of the club and had the police interested.

The old ticket office was down the bottom right corner as you looked at it. Was like something out of the old communist bloc as was the frosty service .

By which time Sir William (Bill to his friends) had resigned.
