Lots of rumours about a North Stand rebuild to be announced shortly

Can you give a retelling of the rumours? Villatalk is toxic for some.

The work going on now is apparently enabling/exploratory work to add a couple of thousand seats.

There was a couple of posters, one who claimed to be ITK on the construction side saying that plans would be unveiled soon for a big upgrade/rebuild.

There was another who said they'd heard a similar rumour on the same day, and that rumour suggested it would take the total capacity up to ~51k.

There's a terrace on the roof where the rain pisses down....singing...

The Comer brothers from Galway wanted to buy us before Randy stepped-in. Construction experts, bring them back on board.

Also experts on leaving properties derelict....be careful what you wish for

I thought it was the opposite - they swoop-in to buy distressed assets, ghost-estates and the like, and tart them up to eventually sell-on at a profit.

There was no tarting up that hotel outside of Galway, their home town. Let it become a fire hazard, didn't bother securing it properly until the council eventually forced to knock it down. Site is vacant to this day, prime real estate next to the college there. Age old trick of pushing in speculative development proposals to try and strong arm the local authorities to change the zoning of property. Same trick in Sandyford in South Dublin, bought some half finished shell of a building for half nothing during the recession, have sat on it since looking to change the zoning of the property. It's like something out of the USSR, all kinds of anti social activities going on. At least knock it anyway but no then all the complaints from locals to the authorities disappear.  Low and behold they have just got planning through to put in apartments there instead, 13 years later.

They had cash in Ireland when very few did to buy distressed assets and some they flipped made huge money. But they are a horrid shower.

Were they the ones who claimed to be mates with Charlie Aitken, who'd never heard of them?

Were they also in insurance, bought the Belfry Golf Course for a short time?

Neville was the one I was thinking of.

I just remember that local news crew doorstepping him at his mock tudor semi in Solihull somewhere.
