They've just spent a ton of money installing new corporate facilities around the ground, and are currently spending more money on that Warehouse thing and then improving the public realm at the back of the North Stand.

They're not about to demolish the Witton and anyone holding their breath for a new north stand given the above is going to be, err, unable to breathe soon or something.

What's a ton of money in this context? Maybe it's a case of we need to do this to get to the £400 million with a view to bringing the bulldozers in after.

Yes, it's all stuff that hasn't reduced our income in the short/ medium term (like demolishing the North Stand would have done), and starts generating income more quickly - not 2-years down the line.

and the only part of it that would be impacted by a full rebuild of witton lane (both the stand and the road) and the north is some elements of what was the car park. Given that the structure they've put in there is very clearly only intended to be temporary I don't see anything to suggest it's instead of stadium redevelopment, it all feels much more like a stop-gap to me. Where we want to be means we need consistently higher turnover than we've seen, £400m gets mentioned a lot and is the sort of figure that would allow us to be far more competitive. Given our last set of completed accounts had a 22/23 turnover of £204m it's no great shock that the focus has shifted to quick wins rather than longer-term projects.

I'm don't expect a rebuild to start soon (or for us to even see things like planning applications) but within a few years seems reasonable. Maybe that's a bit late and we'll have missed an opportunity but I get the impression that the focus is on long-term sustainable progress, and that they've decided the build we had planned wasn't a good fit for that for some reason.

Not to mention its introduced a new type of customer to the club.  A lot of what they’ve done is market testing, in my opinion, to test the amount and elasticity of demand for various products.

I hoped they'd do this at Villa Park to put us on the international stage and sell 5hit loads of shirts.

I won't be going myself as it'll be way out of what I'm prepared to pay to see a gig at Villa Park but well done Villa for pulling this together.

Be great see the FA CUP on stage next to Geezer.
