In today’s Sunday Times.

There aren’t many footballers that can be so disliked by some that they get called the most hated player in the world and so loved by others that they have a prehistoric frog named in their honour....

I'm concerned they'll add Crazy Frog to the post-victory music at Villa Park. Still, it would be an improvement on Sweet Caroline.

I didn't know Emery tried to take him to Villarael with him. I wonder if Emi already being here played any part in Emery accepting the job? Probably not a deciding factor, but already having a player he really liked here can't have hurt.

And to think we were told by footballing big brains that Martinez would be replaced by Emery as he doesn't like him.

A bit spicy today.

That pass back from Bailey that nearly went in ffs, probably his best moment. Easy to switch off and get caught out there.

He's a nobber, but he's our nobber! Take that fire and passion out of him and you'd have half a player.

True, but I've little doubt Emery will bollock him for it.  Could have been sent off himself given the incompetence of the referee.  Coote lost control of that game

Emery “what the fuck do you think you’re doing? Be smarter. Don’t you know who the back up is here?”

He’s king of the wind-up but he had no need to get involved with Maupay at the end. We’re 2-1 up in injury time, let it go.

If Emi wanted to wind him up he just needed to show him his World Cup Winners medal. Apparently in France there are millions in denial that they got destroyed by Emi's wonderful Argentina.

I'm normally very supportive of everything he does but today he got a bit carried away and provoked a shitstorm.
