More from Gilo about the New Road flood plain and exploring other options, I new that it flooded annually but seven floods this winter is astonishing.

It is costing a small fortune to remain there and the flooding gets worse every year so can the Pears afford to stay there?

I don’t think there is a lot of option, will have to happen at some point - will be sad to leave NR - just hope they do a better job of funding than the rugby club did.

As a Pear not sure how our batting order will perform in Div 1….can see plenty of 50-5’s ahead.  Rushworth nearly always takes bucket loads against us so not holding out much hope :-)

Pears have got off to a good start, 123-1. The groundstaff have done well to get the pitch ready as most of the matches have been delayed.

Warwickshire have fought back on the first day with the mighty Pears 316 for 7 at stumps.  Good knocks for Kashif Ali and Gareth Roderick.  Libby, Jones and Waite all getting a start.  Be interesting what tomorrow brings as the weather is mixed.  A decent start but I can't help feeling a bit disappointed to go from 235 for 2 to 316 for 7, equates to 81 for 5 but would have taken this score.

Kashif Ali averaged 23 coming into this game and he's got 2 centuries. Doesn't say a lot for the Bears bowling attack. Have Gleeson and Garton only been signed for the limited overs stuff? Surely they would be better options?

Gleeson only signed a T20 contract I think.  Worcester in a strong position at the close of play to try and exert some real pressure tomorrow.

Think if the rain holds off could be a lovely finish tomorrow - D’Oliveira is a captain who generally tries to manufacture a game so expect a declaration (if we don’t get rolled out quickly lol) that makes a game
