Played well throughout the whole 90 minutes and to top it off scored the winning goal, wow

He was shocking for their penalty. Sold himself stupidly 20 yards into their half, that was where the problems started. Redeemed himself with the goal but that kind of kamikaze defending needs to be stopped.

Showed up them pundits saying if his hammy was playing up he shouldn't be playing the second half.

Don't think he put a foot wrong defensively tonight, good turn of pace and has the welcome habit of chipping in with a few goals.

Mings takes pelters for not getting more, but his job seems to be to redirect the ball into dangerous areas. It looks like something they've worked on this season and last.

Showed me up too! I couldn't understand taking any risks with him playing against ten men

Great to see a player growing into his role like he is. Looking like a snip when you think what Brighton paid for Webster, who is good but no better.

The guy who went missing when Sheffu broke and won the pen was Mings - he'd galloped into the oppos penalty area just before the ball got shifted upfield quickly. Mings became a spectator.

Mings was the one who was back at the end, stupidly showing Burke inside from where he made the pass for the penalty. Konsa was the one who sold himself I'm fairly certain.

You’re right Bronte, Konsa sold himself to a pathetically easy 1-2 on the edge of their box and was then out of the game. He did it again in the second half as well though did make up for both with well timed interceptions when Sheff U were coming forwards late on. He looks a player and is progressing very well.

Nice write up on Villa generally and Konsa in particular. He's beginning to get noticed.

Paul Doyle is a very good journalist - always interesting to listen to when he’s on the Guardian Football Weekly pod.

Konsa is turning into a quality player.  He needs to win more aerial duels but is quick and strong.  Good foil for Mings.

I hate articles like that on the day of games, almost tempting fate. Now watch Liverpool have one of their 'on' days.

He will obviously have bad days - all players do - but the speed of his development is incredible. He a really good player now and will get even better. He’s been so impressive.
