I do think there is the potential to alternate our approach - and have the right as our attacking side - might need Ned to mature but I do wonder if that is part of the appeal of him.

UE has mentioned playing with four centre-halves, like Man City & Arsenal sometimes do.

Imagine that - Konsa-Carlos-Mings-Pau - with Kamara screening and the best keeper in the world behind them.

You’d hope however that the opposing right winger would be wearing boots of lead with solid gold trim.

We could finish some games like that when we're defending leads.

It might be asking a bit much coming back from injury at his age but there's a part of me would love to see Mings and Torres the other way around in that line up, being mainly the dominant centre half but having license to go on his mad gallops up the wing.

Newcastle got in the Champions League with Dan Fucking Burn doing the same thing and he's not got half the talent Mings has.

Yeah, there was an old clip going around a while ago where he put an amazing cross in leading to an Ipswich goal.

How is Claude Lenglet these days anyway? Would you recognise him if you passed him in the street? Don't think I would which is sad as he wasn't a non-entity like that fella Crespo we had at the back about a decade ago.

Lenglet seems to have got injured as soon as he broke into the team at Atlético.

No chance i'd recognise Claude Lenglet if he walked past me. Decent chance I would recognise Clement Lenglet though.

For everyone asking for Mings to be staring - that's why he shouldn't be.  Too many brainless moves in his locker from the past and yet another one - perhaps the cherry on the cake - tonight.
