I’d take Mings over Carlos as the experienced pro to fill gaps (and we’ve seen how often that is).  Sell Carlos and buy an 18 year old thoroughbred to compete with Konsa in a few years time.

With the likes of Mings Kamara and Buendia back I can see a strong second half of the season. Opposite of last year. If we can be there or thereabouts come Jan 1st we are in the race . UTV.

Beudia, it feels like we have outgrown.  I might be wrong but I dont think he fits

My hunch is you’re right but its in our interests to keep him fully involved as, so far, he’s largely untouched by Emery’s magic wand; and worst case, playing him will keep his value up.

Buendia, like Philogene, needs a proper run before being cancelled. He'll get starts for the Palace League Cup game and a Champs League game or two if we beat Bologna.

Imagine Mings getting his first taste of action again where he scored the own goal v Fulham to seal Gerrard's fate in that 3-0 game!
The only time pleases to see an own goal.
For the greater good!

I thought Tyrone did very well last night. He got some of his trademark challenges in and some good headed clearances. Also, he still has that good turn of pace - the ACL op hasn't really impacted him there, which is great news..

Loved a few of the launch passes down the pitch (or as my wife called them the Exocet passes).

Suprised he did the full 9p as he looked shattered towards end. I think should have been subbed

He definitely jumps above Carlos now in the pecking order. It was great to see him organising again. A true captain.

I don't think that is the case, as I can't see Mings playing on the right side where Carlos plays.  We might see him rotating with Torres more in the coming weeks and months.

People keep saying this in a way they never said about Terry, or Vidic, or Nesta, or any number of right-footed centrebacks who preferred the left-hand slot. Torres is one of our most important players, he's not 'rotation'.
