Just noticed format of tournament. Being held in Pakistan... but India get to play all their matches in Dubai. If they make the final, it will be held there too. Why do the ICC just bow down to the bigoted twats? Genuinely, if they play Australia in the final, I will support Australia.

I'm not sure 'bigoted' is right is it?  They obviously have serious security concerns that make playing there not possible.  I was talking to someone the other day who has a family member who works in the ECB.  They said the levels of security detail on the recent tours to Pakistan has been massive and that's just for us.  Would probably be way, way more for an Indian team travelling there.
Load of bollox tom2103. CD called it right bigoted and arrogant. If we and Aussies are good for security so should be Indians. I really think they should have been told to go fuck themselves by ICC but they are weak behind belief.

Anything less than 360 would be a disappointment now.

Poor last ten overs from England, just when they should be stepping up the rate they have stuttered.

That’s a challenging total, batting second under the lights will be difficult and the dew will affect both teams.

Need to break this Carey/Inglis partnership otherwise the match will slip away.

I still maintain the bowling line up is too samey. It’s a bad loss.

I'm not sure if it's because it's too samey but it doesn't take enough wickets in the middle overs. You're not going to win many matches against good sides if you let them regularly get from 20odd/2 to 250odd/3-4

Just keeping it tight doesn't work in modern ODIs because t20 has changed the game and needing 100-120 from the last 10 doesn't scare sides any more unless you're into the lower order. Every team has 2-3 players capable of scoring 40-50 runs at a 180-200% strike rate (like Maxwell for example) and you need to get those players in earlier so they aren't just coming in to smash out a victory but actually need to play with some caution.

I think we lack variety and even with pace, on flat decks good players will get their eye in. Not defending that today was dreadful.
