I'd go the opposite and say if we do move it needs to be as near the city centre as possible. This is for mostly practical reasons of access to public transport, as there won't be many locations as good as the current one for transport links.

If we were to do an inner-city move , for me it has to be the same side of town as we are currently , i'd prefer just down from Dartmouth Circus area not far from The Sack of Potatoes .

I think you’re right. The flipside is no-one will be arsed about the in-house catering as there would be better alternatives on the doorstep. I suppose they’ll factor that in and work out the downside. Maybe if it heavily impacts the corporate stuff they might want to stay where they are with a captive audience.

The best idea for us would be to aim as close as possible to HS2 Curzon Street. Not because of the station itself but because of the investment in the area and it's infrastructure that will come with it. Get in there pretty soon and I reckon we'd have a decent chance of getting a tram link, especially if we went down the 'more than just a football ground' route.

If it was close to the city, then the catering would need to be a decent level - Spurs seem to do it well.

Nothing more than "back of fag packet" stuff really, but wonder if there would be scope to redevelop the NIA site?

As someone mentioned earlier, it would be a visually impressive location and is easily accessible.  If it had a retractable roof, it woukd still be able to hold concerts and events there as well.

Off the top of my head I’d say that site is way too small for a 60k seater stadium

The boat has been missed as far as a city centre stadium is concerned.
It is pretty certain we are moving, the new investment partners is another clue.
i am sure it will be in the midlands though.

We could use Wembley like Spuds did.

That's  a great idea (for people like me 😂) i think although would never happen and im sure our fans would be unhappy having to pay so much to travel every other week

We really haven’t. There’s a shitload of industrial land which, whilst it’s not currently in the city centre, would be if you built a multipurpose stadium there, eg gun quarter or matalan island.

Don’t get me wrong, my overwhelming preference would be to stay at a redeveloped Villa Park. But if we were to move there’s a compelling case for doing so in the city centre.

Short of buying up a swathe of businesses and flattening them there's no available land big enough.
